Advanced Strategy Case: Tesla Motors Inc. Student Name Course Institution Introduction When you talk about a world leader in electric vehicle (EV) business, there is one name that always jump right into people’s minds. That is Tesla. Tesla Motors Inc. is the world’s largest manufacturer and vendor of electric vehicles (EV) powertrains. The company under a multiyear agreement with Toyota also supplies full powertrain for Toyota RAV4 EV (Tesla Motors Inc., 2015). Tesla has expanded its relationships with Mercedes Benz as well. Under the A-Class and Smart for two programs, Tesla manufactures two brands of electric vehicles for Mercedes Benz. Currently, Tesla and Mercedes have plans that are already underway to start the development of an M-B vehicle that has the Tesla powertrain in it. Reports from these two leading car manufactures indicate that the program will commence sooner than expected. Elon Musk is the founder, current CEO and Chairman of Tesla Motors Inc. Initially, Tesla Motors Inc. was known by its first brand, the Tesla Roadster. This is due to the fact that Tesla Model Sedan is a new brand that hit the market in the year 2012. Tesla Motor declared that they were going to manufacture the Model S in the year 2009. As it has been confirmed, the company was able to produce the seven passenger sedan model. This new model was made with the initial intentions of targeting the larger market.
